Is it right for someone who sits all day?

Today’s knowledge workers spend a great deal of their time sitting at a desk, where they work on computers and talk on the phone. If not properly aligned, the configuration of a person’s chair, desk, computer monitor, keyboard and mouse (known as ergonomics) can exert an enormous amount of stress on a person’s body. As a result, it’s extremely common for workers to experience low back pain, neck pain and headaches, which is caused by the combination of sitting all day and having poor posture. These aches and pains are often caused by nerves in the spine that have become irritated by misaligned spinal joints. If left untreated, they can also increase the onset of headaches, migraines and a host of other health issues.

Regaining, Maintaining & Optimizing Your Health

Fortunately, the impairments that knowledge workers experience can be effectively diagnosed, treated, and prevented through chiropractic care. Several studies have shown that chiropractic care is very effective for treating conditions commonly experience by workers. For example, a study in the British Medical Journal showed that patients with low back pain derive more benefit and long term satisfaction from chiropractic care than hospital treatment (Meade, 2005). Another study showed that chiropractic treatment for neck pain is better than most treatments used by traditional medicine.
